The State Ethics Commission is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented professional with an investigative background to fill a full-time Special Investigator 2 position within the Eastern Regional Office in Harrisburg. If you have experience with financial document review and analysis, interviewing, and report writing, this is the perfect opportunity for you! DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Special Investigator 2, you will be responsible for conducting detailed investigations of financial conflicts of interests and other violations of the Restricted Activities provisions. These investigations are conducted of public officials and public employees at the local, county, and state level, and the investigations may result in administrative prosecutions and penalties. Duties include interviewing witnesses, preparing detailed investigative reports, reviewing financial and other public records, reviewing social media and other sources, testifying at hearings, and other tasks related to the investigation and administrative prosecution of a violation of the Ethics Act.

Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch. Intrastate travel required, including occasional overnight stay. Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time up to 2 days a week, this is subject to agency operational needs. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. QUALIFICATIONS Additional Requirements: You must possess a Bachelors Degree in Criminology, Accounting, Finance, or any other relevant field. You must possess three years of experience conducting or assisting with fraud, internal theft, or administrative investigations. This position is located in Harrisburg, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. You must be willing to work in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania. You must be able to perform essential job functions. Preferred Qualifications (not required): Progressively responsible criminal or administrative investigation work experience. Four or more years of investigative public contact experience (i.e., reviewing and presenting records, correspondence, and documentation used in case prosecution, claim or credit approval, or debt collection). Curiosity, creativity, professionalism, initiative, attention to detail, patience, and a strong interest in good and honest government. Experience utilizing the Microsoft Office Suite of applications. Strong written and oral communication skills. How to Apply: Your application must include a cover letter and resume.
