Insight Global Remote Cloud Security Engineer in San Diego, California

Job Description

An enterprise e-Commerce employer is seeking an AWS Security Engineer to join their team. This person will be joining a collaborative team focusing on the Platform Security in their AWS hosted cloud environment. This role is hybrid as the person must sit in San Diego, San Francisco or Los Angeles with the ability to come into the office at least 1 day a week.

Responsibilities include:

* Provide support to services such BlueLogin, Enforcer, KTBR, etc.. and help resolve issues for other teams so other members of the team can focus on other development work and meet deadlines on time. Improve Security Posture

* Document Cloud Security policies and monitor the cloud infrastructure for Security Vulnerabilities using a home-grown tool such as Enforcer, Aero, or third-party tools such as Prisma, Qualys, etc. and act on it.

* Help troubleshoot cloud-related issues related to Security & compliance using tools like Splunk, CloudWatch, Security dashboards, etc to assist the SOC in the issues they are supporting.

* Scripting & automating regular manual tasks to expedite the process and free up time for the team to focus on other priority areas.

Day to Day

o Coding in Python from scratch (70%)

o Customer requirements, daily tasks monitor slack channels, answering questions for developers (30%)

Skills and Requirements

* 5+ years of experience as a Security Engineer in an AWS environment

* 4+ years of scripting/coding experience in Python

* Understanding and experience with the implementation of best practices across multiple security disciplines/domains.

* Strong, proven knowledge of virtualization technologies (AWS preferred), web protocols, common attacks, and Linux/Unix tools and architecture. null
