Robert Half Medical Coder in Scranton, Pennsylvania

Description

We are offering a unique opportunity in the healthcare industry for a detail-oriented Medical Coder in Scranton, Pennsylvania. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for creating training protocols, assisting with documentation, billing, and coding, and conducting quality audits. You'll work closely with students, staff, and management to maintain compliance with coding and documentation standards. This role requires a strong understanding of Medical Coding and CPT Codes.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop training for clinical workflow, documentation, and Medent usage.

  • Assist students during clinical rotation orientations.

  • Support Revenue Integrity and Billing/Coding Manager in documentation, billing, coding, and education.

  • Create audit process for new providers' documentation quality.

  • Participate in Revenue Cycle orientation for new residents.

  • Educate residents, fellows, and providers on coding and documentation.

  • Develop rotation schedule for on-site assistance with coding and documentation.

  • Ensure ongoing compliance for all new residents, fellows, and providers to minimize any payer and governmental audit risk.

  • Train medical scribes on coding and documentation.

  • Conduct monthly chart audits and provide feedback for compliance.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Must have a strong understanding of Medical Coding

  • Experience in medical coding and billing.

  • Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification a plus.

  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health record (EHR) systems is preferred.

  • Should possess strong attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Must have excellent organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary.

  • Proficiency in using medical software and computer systems is desired.

  • Should have a problem-solving mindset to resolve coding issues.
